Jess Harris

I got my first dog as a surprise for my 10th birthday and since then, dogs have been my people. I have always gravitated towards animals and grew up with all kinds of pets. In high school, I volunteered at shelters just so I could work with as many animals as possible.
Once I graduated high school I knew I wanted to work with animals as a career so I went straight into the Veterinary Technician program at College of Southern Idaho. I loved everything I learned as a vet tech but I wasn’t getting the one on one interaction that I wanted. I took some time off of school and got a job working as a kennel technician where I learned a lot about behavior and body language in dogs. I loved watching the dogs and getting good at communicating with them. That led me to explore dog training. I enrolled in a program with Animal Behavior College to become a certified trainer. Molli was my mentor for this program and I started working with her straight out of school. I have loved working one on one with dogs and seeing them learn and progress in the best ways. I am excited to see where this career takes me!

My dogs: I have an 11 year old Golden Retriever named Sadie who loves to go swimming. I also have a 9 month old Bernese Mountain dog named Ruka and she loves to work on trick work, and scent work. We also love to go on lots of hikes and go camping in the mountains.
